My name is Jameal Bailey, and I am a Black Queer artist from Brooklyn, NY, who is currently studying at NYU Tisch. Even though I have grown up with challenges, I was lucky to have a support system to uplift me and my career. My acting teacher once told me, “The artist's job is to walk the nerve of your most acute sensitivity.” Acting allowed me to use the power of my soul to voice the stories of characters who have lost their voice in the world therein through dramatic or comedic stories. As an artist, I hope to expose the world to the voices of Black Queer artists and, Ultimately, uplift and encourage future generations to be unapologetically themselves in every aspect of their lives.
